We All Share This Place

One thing we have in common is the environment

No matter where we come from or what our day looks like, we all have something important in common: we live on the same planet. We breathe the same air. We drink the same water. And every one of us depends on the same natural systems to keep life possible. That truth can feel huge, but it can also feel very close to home—right here in the places we walk, gather, notice birdsong, watch the seasons change, and care for the land together.

At the Bob O Link Greenspace, that idea is at the heart of everything we do. Conservation is not just about protecting a patch of land for its own sake. It is about recognizing that healthy streams, trees, soil, and habitat support all of us. When we restore native plants, protect the riparian zone, stabilize stream banks, and care for this shared greenspace, we are doing more than improving one corner of the neighborhood. We are participating in something bigger: the work of sustaining the living systems that connect people, wildlife, and water.

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”
 - Native American Proverb

That is why local conservation matters so much. Air and water do not stop at property lines. Wildlife does not recognize neighborhood boundaries. What happens in one stream corridor, one tree canopy, or one patch of habitat can ripple outward in ways we may not always see right away. Protecting greenspace helps improve water quality, reduce pollution, support biodiversity, and create healthier, more resilient communities. It also gives us something people deeply need: a place to reconnect—with nature, with neighbors, and with the reminder that we are part of something shared.

The work at the Bob O Link Greenspace reflects that belief in practical ways. Our efforts to restore streamside habitat, strengthen the riparian corridor, plant and protect native vegetation, and care for this valued greenspace are all rooted in connection. We are caring for the land, but we are also building relationships—between neighbors, between people and place, and between today’s actions and tomorrow’s possibilities. Every cleanup, planting day, wildlife observation, and shared conversation helps grow a stronger conservation community.

If we all share the same air, the same water, and the same planet, then caring for the environment is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for one another. That is the spirit behind the Bob O Link Greenspace. We hope this space inspires not only conservation, but connection—because when people feel connected to a place, they are more likely to protect it. And when we protect the natural systems that sustain us, we invest in a healthier future for everyone.

Whether you volunteer, share what you learn, attend an event, or simply spend time noticing the life in this greenspace, you are part of the story. We invite you to keep following our work, join the conversation, and help us care for the place we all share.
