The Bob O Link Greenspace Stewardship Committee

We gather as neighbors, volunteers, and stewards to give voice to a place that cannot speak for itself.

Our role is to listen to what the stream needs, what the soil needs, what the trees and pollinators need, and what future generations will need from this Greenspace.

Guided by ecological knowledge, local experience, and a shared commitment to conservation, we seek to make decisions that protect, restore, and strengthen the living systems of Bob O Link Greenspace.

We are not owners of this land. We are its temporary caretakers.

If Bob O Link Greenspace Had a Seat at The Table

The stream would ask for:

Decisions that improve water quality and aquatic habitat.
Clean water without trash.
Healthy, stable banks protected from erosion.
Native vegetation along its edges.
Room to flow and adapt naturally.

The land would ask for:

Protection of the soil that supports all life above it.
Restoration of areas affected by landfill, compaction, and rocky soils.
Native trees, shrubs, and plants that help rebuild living soil.
Reduced disturbance and thoughtful stewardship.
Long-term ecological health over short-term convenience.

The wildlife would ask for:

Connected habitat corridors.
Safe places to feed, rest, and raise young.
Protection from unnecessary disturbance.
A landscape managed for biodiversity and resilience.

The birds would ask for:

Native trees and shrubs for nesting and shelter.
Healthy insect populations to feed their young.
Safe migration and breeding habitat.
Reduced habitat fragmentation.

The insects, amphibians, and small creatures would ask for:

Leaf litter, fallen logs, native plants, and natural cover.
Healthy soil that is rich with fungi, roots, and microorganisms.
Clean water and wet areas for breeding and survival.
Recognition that even the smallest species play an essential role in the ecosystem.

The bees, butterflies, and other pollinators would ask for:

Diverse native flowers that bloom throughout the seasons.
Pesticide-free habitat.
Connected green spaces that allow them to move, feed, and reproduce.
Protection of the plants they depend upon.

Will this leave the stream cleaner, the soil healthier, the habitat richer, and the living community of Bob O Link Greenspace more resilient than it is today?
