Join us for a community event!

Our neighborhood is proud to announce that we are joining the Symbolic Monarch Migration 2026, an inspiring educational and conservation program that connects communities across North America through the story of the monarch butterfly. The project brings together participants from the United States, Canada, and Mexico in a unique exchange of paper butterflies, letters, and cultural connections.

As part of the program, participants create life-sized symbolic monarch butterflies and Ambassador Folders that are sent to students near the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in Mexico. In the spring, participants receive butterflies and letters from Mexican students, creating meaningful cross-border friendships while learning about monarch migration and conservation.

By taking part in this annual tradition, our neighborhood will help raise awareness about the importance of protecting monarch butterflies and their habitat. The program encourages environmental stewardship, cultural understanding, and community involvement while celebrating one of nature’s most remarkable migrations.

What to Bring:

Bring your child's crayons, markers and other craft supplies that would be great for creating paper butterflies. 

We appreciate attendees bringing craft items (crayons, markers, watercolors, glue, fun decorations like sparkles, and other creative items) to help make this volunteer event a huge success.
